PSG performed well most of the game and had Lyon on the ropes but failed to score a second goal, so when Lyon got the opportunity to equalize, they took it. Zlatan really only had one chance to score.
– We got chances to score 2-0, and if we did it would have been a completely different match, Zlatan said after the game.
Last season a brilliant PSG crushed Lyon at home, winning 4-0 and Zlatan scored two goals. Before this game most thought PSG would be the clear better team with Lyon having a problematic start of the season and last time PSG played at Parc des Princes they beat Europa League-team Saint-Etienne 5-0, Z scoring a wonderful hattrick.
SEVERAL NEW PLAYERS
PSG manager Laurent Blanc made several changes from the last couple of games, throwing in Aurier, Digne, Cabaye, Matuidi and Lavezzi. They dominated the game in the first half, had alot of pace in their passing with Cabaye playing greatly and Digne pushing up alot on the left hand side.
Already in the 19th minute Cavani scored a nice header on a supercross from Digne, making it 1-0. El Matador has been very loyal to the PSG gameplay since he came to PSG and it's important he scores as well as Ibra so that was a positive detail (even though it's obviously super-important for PSG to have a firing Ibra scoring continously). Even though PSG dominated the game, they didn't have too many chances and in the 84th minute Lyon took their chance and scored a lucky (unlucky) goal to 1-1.
Ibra's game wasn't his best, he wasn't as involved in the build up play as usual and was far away from the ball alot of times when PSG got closer to the penalty area. He only had one clear chance, catching a rebound on Motta's shot in the 77th minute, right shot was blocked by the keeper though. PSG did not get the three points but the bright side of things is that PSG still are unbeaten this season. Zlatan did however lose the top goalscorer first position.
20' - 1-0. Edinson Cavani, PSG.
84' - 1-1. Umtiti, Lyon.
