BEAUTIFUL SCISSOR KICK IN THE 4TH MINUTE

Zlatan only needed three minutes before he had scored his first goal for his new club Manchester United. Antonio Valencia found him in the box and he scissor kicked the ball acrobatically into the goal against Galatasaray.

Zlatan scored already in the third minute of his debut in Manchester United. With a beautiful goal!

The Swedish crowd went mad and his new teammates smiled all over the place. What an exceptional typical Zlatan-start in his new club.

Manchester United then conceded two goals in the first half before Zlatan together with several other players were taken off by Mourinho.

In the second half talented Marcus Rashford made a big impact and created several chanses and together with Juan Mata they were United's best players when Man United turned the game around and won 5-2 in the end, Wayne Rooney scored twice. Notable is also that Antonio Valenca made three assists.

Sensational start for Ibra and nice Mourinho-win in the end.

RAIN AND BAD PITCH FORCES MAN UTD TO GO HOME

Manchester United's planned pre-season friendly against Manchester City in China today has been cancelled due to a unplayable pitch as well as have rain.

Manchester United released the following statement on their website earlier:

FULL STATEMENT ON CITY V UNITED CANCELLATION

Relevent Sports, LeSports, Beijing Football Association, Manchester City and Manchester United today announced the cancellation of the International Champions Cup China 2016 fixture between Manchester City and Manchester United, scheduled to be played at the National Stadium, Beijing, at 19:35 Beijing time today, July 25, 2016.

The cancellation was made in the interest of player safety and comes following extreme weather events in Beijing over a multiple day period, that have left the playing surface in a condition deemed to be unfit for play. The conditions experienced in Beijing on July 19 and July 20 were reported as being some of the most extreme weather conditions the capital of China has experienced in recent history. Regular rain occurred also on July 21 and July 22.

The decision was made collectively by tournament organisers, participating clubs, the China Football Association, the Beijing Football Association and the management of the National Stadium.

Due to international travel schedules and planned sporting commitments, the match cancellation is definitive and the match will not be re-scheduled.

The International Champions Cup and its participating clubs thanked and apologised to fans in China and around the world who were planning to attend the match or watch the match broadcast.

To acknowledge the support of fans, players of Manchester City and Manchester United will record and distribute a thank you video for fans in China before departing Beijing.

Tournament spokesperson Patrick Murphy said: "As the leading pre-season tournament globally, International Champions Cup is committed to delivering safe and professional match conditions for the world’s best footballers, that in turn delivers great entertainment for fans. The extreme weather leading up to the match in Beijing has damaged the National Stadium playing surface to an extent that leaves it in an unplayable condition.

"We have collectively made this cancellation decision in the interest of player safety and concerns over the players' subsequent ability to put on a display for the fans that meets the quality standard of the International Champions Cup.

"We thank all parties who contributed to the planned staging of this match, in particular the tens of thousands of fans who committed to purchasing tickets. An appropriate refund policy will be put in place by our local partners for those fans."

Chief executive officer of LeSports, Mr Lei Zhenjian said: "We feel very disappointed with the outcome, and have tried our absolute best to save the event following recent extreme rain in Beijing. We appreciate the fans’ devotion and our partners support. We will now focus on delivering a fantastic game in Shenzhen."

Ferran Soriano, chief executive of Manchester City, said: “We are very disappointed not to be able to play for our supporters here in Beijing. The players have been working hard in training to prepare for an exciting derby. We know how much everyone was looking forward to the game, but we understand that this bad weather is beyond anyone’s control, and that the rain has made it totally unsafe to play on this pitch. It has been a pleasure and an honour to experience such a warm welcome from the people and supporters here in Beijing, and we remain committed to playing here in the future."

Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said: "It's extremely disappointing not to be able to play the game in this amazing stadium but the recent torrential rain would have caused problems anywhere in the world and has left the pitch unplayable. We know our fans in China will, like the players and staff, be saddened by the cancellation of the match but I am sure they appreciate that the player safety has to be the top priority. I am sure we will return to the Bird's Nest in the future to give them the chance to see the team in action."

Fans who have purchased tickets to the cancelled match can seek a refund directly from their original point of purchase (no higher than face value at the time the ticket was originally purchased). Further details will be released in due course on the local Chinese tournament website, www.internationalchampionscup.cn.

The International Champions Cup China fixture between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City, scheduled to take place at 20:00 Beijing time on Thursday, July 28, at Longgang Stadium Shenzhen, will continue as planned. There are currently no concerns regarding the impact of adverse weather for the match in Shenzhen.

As a result of the Beijing match cancellation, there will not be sufficient matches played in the 2016 International Champions Cup China to achieve a tournament winner. "

Manchester United are now going back home where Zlatan will join the team for the first time and will play Galatasaray on Friday.

BORUSSIA STRONGER DUE TO LONGER PREPARATIONS

Manchester United today played the first out of two games in the International Champions Cup in Asia and unfortunately lost 1-4 to a better and stronger Borussia Dortmund.

The opponent had started their pre-season earlier than Man Utd, having already played four games before this one. Henrich Mkhitaryan scored Man Utd's only goal (his first in the red shirt) after a nice selfless assist by youngster Marcus Rashford.

Man Utd's starting line-up:

Johnstone, Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Memphis.

The stadium in Shanghai was completely red with Manchester United-shirts, the size of the Man Utd-fanbase in Asia showed itself in great colors.

Listen to what manager José Mourinho said after the game:

As you probably know by know, Zlatan is not with the team in Asia and will join the team next week.

BACK TO THE OLD NUMBER

Manchester United today announced the official player numbers for the Premier League season 2016/17. Zlatan gets number 9, a number he is familiar with having had it in three of his previous clubs.

He got number 9 in Malmö when they entered the Swedish top division Allsvenskan in 2001 and then continued with it in Ajax 2001-2004 and Juventus 2004-2006.

In Inter he went down a digit to 8 2006-2009 before getting number 9 again in Barcelona 2009-2010. In PSG he had number 18 the first few months before getting number 10, which he had until he left the club this spring. In Sweden had number 10 2003-2016.

Manchester United (without Zlatan) are currently in Asia on their pre-season training tour and Zlatan will join the team for the first team when they come back next week.

STILL NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MAN UTD

No official announcement about whether or not Zlatan will join the team on their Asia Tour (playing Borussia Dortmund 22 July + Man City 25 July) has been made by Manchester United yet.

But he has not been mentioned in several official articles about the tour so it seems he will make his debut against Galatasaray in Sweden 30 July.

Manchester United published an article today stating that Marcus Rashford will join the tour, as well as Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling, but that they will not play.

Zlatan is not mentioned in the article, which indicates he will not join the tour.

MOURINHO SPOKE ABOUT ZLATAN FOR THE FIRST TIME

Yesterday José Mourinho held his first press conference as a Man Utd-manager and also gave a long interview with MUTV. He spoke highly of his new signing Zlatan.

JOSÉ MOURINHO: "Zlatan is Zlatan.

He wins year after year. His goal record is absolutely amazing, his passion for the game is incredible and it's only possible with his passion and ambition, with his CV, to make the decision at this stage of his career, for the biggest challenge of his career.

It's the biggest club he's ever played for and the most difficult competition he's ever played for. He is an amazing player.

I think it's a beautiful thing when a coach has a player and, a few years later, has him again. It is beautiful, absolutely beautiful because it means the relationship was fantastic from a personal point of view and the professional engagement was great too.

A few years later, we're back together so I'm happy with that and I know what he can bring to us."
